What is the Sacred Feminine?
It is not necessary to turn to New Age to hear about the concept of the sacred couple of the masculine and the feminine, both having an essence of their own, with specific qualities, an original essence beyond archetypes, a sacred source.
Starting from the principle that we are microcosms within the macrocosm, it is obvious that we are intrinsically linked to the whole, and to all its aspects. We are therefore composed of both feminine and masculine aspects, they are complementary.
The sacred Feminine is therefore a primordial energy with which it is possible and important to be in contact in order to develop, make room for and honour its qualities in oneself and in the world for a healthier balance and expression of both polarities.

The Sacred Feminine and the Moon
In many traditions, women are connected to the Moon, which governs the tides, whose cycle is on average of 28 days and has an influence on that of the woman and her lunations, whether she is aware of it or not.
On a symbolic level, the fact that the Moon strongly influences the Water element, which makes up our body for at least 70%, explains the “emotional tides” particularly in connection with the lunar cycles, the Water being itself symbolic of the feminine nature, powerful, sensitive, empathetic, listening, fluid, sensual, receptive, gentle, lunar (cyclic).
In the Andean tradition of Q’eros in Peru, the Sacred Feminine is connected to the notion of space. It is said of the Feminine principle that it receives, meaning the fluidity and the natural receptivity emanating from this sacred principle. It is also conceived as the only one of the 2 principles that carries the 2 consciousnesses. The Moon is always there, and even often visible during the day (contrary to the sun that we never see at night).
Masculine and Feminine energies, both are essential
In this same tradition, as in others, the masculine nature is related to the Sun and its qualities of strength and radiance, it is actively giving. The masculine principle is connected to time, its strength is to be present and to give for the simple pleasure of giving and honoring.
If we adopt this symbolic vision of their attributes, we quite swiftly observe that in our societies, perhaps as well as in our lives, we have often strayed far from these principles and suffer as a result, as do our relationships and the male/female relationships.
To this we mustn’t forget to add that the qualities attributed to the principle of the sacred feminine have been ousted, suffocated, blamed, humiliated, shamed. Without minimizing violence against women, far from it, my purpose here is above all to emphasize that the rather “feminine” aspects have been labeled negatively for too long, and the imbalances and dysfunctions that this has created are observable everywhere.
Consciously connecting to our emotional dimensions and how they affect the way we are in relationship, to come from a more conscious and intentional in our way of being and communicating is essential to find more accuracy, it is about reconnecting ourselves to our sacred humanity.
Don’t we say of a man who is in a healthy connection to his emotions that he is in touch with his feminine side ?
Healing through the Sacred Feminine
Today, where we hear a lot about the fall of patriarchy, toxic masculine, toxic feminine, but also about these sacred principles, what the Sacred Feminine represents is above all a glimmer of hope.
The hope of seeing different ways of being and operating emerge: where different values matter, other values take precedence.
These values that many of us cherish to co-build and birth one of the worlds of tomorrow also for future generations.
These values, by nature, are rather related to the qualities of the feminine principle:

The Sacred Feminine: the hope for a better world
To relate to the principle of the sacred feminine, whether one is a woman, man or non-binary, is to choose to develop and grow these qualities in oneself, to raise one’s consciousness in order to be in a different relation to oneself and to others for a better world. It is about choosing to come from an inner space, a posture based on deep listening, understanding, compassion and always choosing love as the one and only principle even when things get hard.
The Sacred Feminine stands as a hope for a world where we are more connected to our humanity, a world where there is space for everything. It is not a utopia but rather a compelling alternative and organic evolution from the current brutal and brutalizing ways of being & acting that have largely proven how destructive and unfulfilling they are.
To rise up by freeing ourselves from our own violence in order to make the choice of love above all happens through a reconnection to the sacred. The full expression of who we are, in all our range and all our potentials, happens through a healthy relationship to these polarities that we all carry.
5 ways to find and develop the sacred Feminine:
- Meet and awaken your sacred feminine by bathing in her energies : take part in the Worldwide Womb Blessing®, ritual initiated by Miranda Gray in 2012, mostly free (unless there is a place to rent to get together, participation will be requested), which takes place 5 times a year on the occasion of certain full moons, and where men also have a specific meditation available (here Gentlemen for more info and there ladies)
- Participate regularly in a group or circle on the sacred feminine in Bordeaux or online, to free speech, share experiences, adopt practices of connection to female energy to anchor it and celebrate it joyfully! She loves to receive and celebrate
- For women:
- Treat yourself to a personal Womb Blessing® session to which all Moon Mothers are initiated according to their level. A personal Womb Blessing® is the start of a rebirth lasting for a lunar cycle duration (approx 1 month). As of the end of July 2022, I can also provide this service on a remote basis/

Women’s circles in Bordeaux and online: what is it? Which one to choose?
Powerful moments of initiation and rituals of symbolic passages existed in ancient traditions, they allowed sacralization of initiatic moments of a woman’s life, and the transmission and sharing between women.
Very few of us have received a manual on what it means to be a woman in today’s world. We are of a rather emotional and cyclical nature in an environment that promotes and highlights functioning with control, predictability and rationality above all, all rather masculine attributes. So, it is of course pretty common for a woman to find herself alone in the face of experiences that are not always easy to manage and in a world where she does not seem to fit in, and that we should in fact not have to live or handle alone.
Why participate in a women’s circle?
To find oneself in the space of a women circle is a way to find the connection to this link of transmission and sharing that is so enriching, and reassuring. And when you have found the right circle for you, it feels like home.
Each woman is unique and carries her experiences, as well as the memories of her lineage. The circle of women often makes it possible to feel much less alone in the face of questions, problems, desires or experiences that can trigger deep inquiry.
Joining a women circle is a way to find a space where it is easy to feel that you belong, that nothing is wrong with you, and to share your truth whilst feeling held, supported and celebrated. A circle of women is a space to welcome all experiences, and to share our learnings in the celebration of our true nature: space, welcome, empathy, compassion, joy and sharing.
A circle of women is mostly a circle of words of women
Finding a space to share with women where we can talk about everything and feel understood and supported is really valuable, we use it and learn from each other as we grow and can give each other wise advice … if they are desired of course. A circle is also a space in which one comes to learn or practice having healthy boundaries, for example, and to relate to one’s own sovereignty.
Expressing in many ways our personal, intimate, relational, professional, social experiences and all the joys, questions, disappointments or celebrations they bring is liberating, especially in a structured setting, honoring confidentiality and safety. The circle of women is also an opportunity to honor our cycles and our cyclical natures in a world where there is ultimately very little space for it in the dominant culture.
What to say in a women’s circle?
A women’s circle is a space to welcome all experiences, emotions and questions as well as explorations through different means and activities. This space is safe, regulated and co-created. An alliance is also strongly recommended to ensure its confidentiality.
Women’s Circles and the Sacred Feminine
During women’s circles on the occasion of the Womb Blessing® rituals, we open the circle by sharing before the time of meditations and reception of the energies of the sacred feminine, and we also have a speaking space after the ritual and before closing the circle.
Whatever form the circle of women takes, the sacred feminine is always present, at a minimum through the qualities of acceptance, sharing, listening, empathy, celebration, and awakening of the sacred feminine energies.

What is the Worldwide Womb Blessing®?
It is a guided meditations based ritual which invites to connect remotely on 5 full moons every year, and receive the Sacred Feminine energies whilst being connected to the worldwide community and sharing these energies with others too.
The Moon has in fact always been connected to the feminine especially by these cycles that women live in their own flesh for many years of their life for the most part.
The Womb Blessing® World is for women who want to reconnect to their cyclical nature, activate and harmonize their energy center of the 2nd chakra, the center of the fundamental sexual energy: the creativity intrinsic to the female nature itself.
Miranda Gray, founder of the Worldwide Womb Blessing®
Miranda Gray, author of several books on women including Red Moon, artist, master Reïki practitioner and businesswoman, launched the Womb Blessing® in 2012 by sending a few e-mails to women in her circle.
Miranda Gray’s mission is to contribute to the awakening of feminine energies and values in the world, and in the professional environment in particular. These feminine archetypes are present according to the phases of the cycle of the woman, or of the Moon, to harmonize them: the Maiden, the Mother, the Enchantress and the Crone.
Indeed, each of the phases of the cycle gives way to a specific energy that will be characterized differently according to each woman but whose general attributes are those of the related archetype.
Thus, the pre-ovulatory period sees the archetype of the Girl being activated with an energy full of momentum and self-confidence available … that nothing stops!
The archetype of the Mother, on the other hand, expresses itself in the ovulatory phase with the strong desire to share moments of quality in the company of loved ones, in the authenticity and fruitfulness of the moment.
When the pre-menstrual phase arrives, it is the Enchantress who arrives! Brimming with raw energy that is not always easy to manage or channel, she takes stock and expresses herself with the “skin-deep” aspect that characterizes this archetype.
Finally comes the menstrual phase and the archetype of the Crone that characterizes it, the cycle ends and it is time to turn inward to release the load of the cycle. Time to be in one’s own space and introspection take place naturally, all moments of reconnection to one’s own wisdom and integration of the experiences and learnings related to the closing cycle.

- The month of integration is a period when it is not recommended to make radical decisions of change, because the energy at work can sometimes come to shake up or accelerate processes or needs for change. It is important to fully embrace this process itself and let it act, in active awareness.
- Receiving a personal Womb Blessing is a way to reconnect to the power of this energy center that is the 2nd chakra. It is absolutely not necessary to have a uterus or to still be cycled to receive it. It is however necessary for young girls to have had their first moons.
- When we talk about power here, we are talking about power within, access to all of one’s resources and energies—the notion of power is very clearly the opposite of the notion of “power over the other”.

Moon Mother®: What is it?
When Miranda Gray, author of Red Moon (among other books), initiated the Worldwide Womb Blessing®, the development to a bigger and bigger community of women brought about women who felt called to come in as local relays to organize women’s circles. They relay events of course, but also help anchor this energy. The Moon Mothers network has therefore begun to see the light of day with training programs and initiations to structure everything, the initiations received by the Moon Mothers consist in the opening of the channel and the use of certain symbols for the energetic healing sessions practiced. The Moon Mothers network is an international network of 7,000+ initiated women.
The Womb Blessing® community is animated and managed by the volunteer work of many women in the community.
I have personally been following the Womb Blessing rituals pretty much from the beginning back in 2012, thanks to my friend Zuzana who told me about it.
The transformations, connections and healings that have occurred in me have been important, progressive, and powerful. It was around the time of its start that I also discovered my subtle connection to my Ancestors in a more direct way, especially my grandmothers, and this initiated awareness of patterns to be liberated, and a whole personal path of liberation of transgenerational memories also.
I am the last woman of a lineage of women who were overwhelmingly subjected to significant trauma, I was fortunate not to have experienced the trauma of physical and/or sexual abuse abuse at a young age. In my direct family, I am the only one in this case. We are five women.
Of course, this conditioned a lot of things and even if I did not experience these traumas directly, I internalized the collateral damage that permeates an environment with a largely wounded feminine majority. Thanks to the rituals, meditations and Sacred Feminine energy, I was gradually able to identify these memories, patterns, beliefs and conditionings transmitted in the lineage and learned along the way how to free myself from them in a way that not only liberates me but other women too.
I know that the Womb Blessing was fundamental in this evolution and this is what led me very naturally to commit to become a Moon Mother®.
I received the first level of initiation at the end of November 2021, then the second mid-March 2022, I then got initiated as a remote practitioner in June 2022. I am also involved as a volunteer in this community, this circle of women, sisters, to support the beautiful energy of the Womb Blessing® and make it known to all women, as we are all connected through the Sacred Feminine. It is also important for me to work with men who are involved in this type of approach.
A lineage of wild women will die with me and my dearest wish is that there will be many more!
Far from certain clichés that may circulate about this type of practice and/or community, I do not consider that motherhood is the only fundamental aspect of the feminine, I myself have no child, am I less a woman for that reason? Absolutely not, of course.
There are enough injunctions to a lot of things that concern women, their bodies, their expression, their freedom … and the list goes on, my work with the energy of the Sacred Feminine is rather likely to unfold in the aspects that make each of us a unique woman who has a unique life path.
Here, there is no confusion between what we think we should look like and the true authentic expression of our unique nature. What is important in my opinion is to renew, reconcile with and express all its different facets in an attitude of acceptance and celebration. Let us be reminded here that the Sacred Feminine is space, authorization and receptivity.
10 years after starting this ritual and as I close a 10-year chapter myself, I continue my journey with the Womb Blessing® and I am very happy about it, even honored. Being a Moon Mother® means that I have received specific initiations and have been trained in related energy work protocols.
